I completed a quilt for one of my customers the other day. It came out awesome. Jerusha made this quilt for her son who is a scuba diver. The quilt was a challenge for me because I wanted to incorporate many under sea creatures and a couple of scuba divers.
Google is my best friend when I’m looking for quilting ideas. I can search for images that I can use to quilt. I look for line drawings as they are the easiest for me to use. I found quite a few fish, sharks, octopus, dolphins, seaweed, star fish, and sea horses. I also found a couple of nice scuba divers.

I spread out the quilt, then laid out the various images where I wanted them. I then loaded the quilt on to my longarm frame. Jerusha and I had picked out three different colors of thread. I traced the various images on to Golden Thread quilting paper as I went along. I was very proud of the way the images were coming out.
The problem I have now is that none of them show up in my pictures. You will just have to take my word for it that they are actually there.
Your quilt is beautiful Jerusha. Thank you for letting me quilt it.

Jerusha, Cathy,
The quilt is gorgeous!! You’ll have to borrow it back so we can see it in person.

My son loved the quilt. He commented “it will be a lifetime treasure”. The quilting was beautiful. A coral design was used in the coral at the bottom of the quilt. Several types and sizes of fish, seahorses and turtles swim throughout the seaweed and turquoise water. A shark is in the middle of a turn stalking its prey. The SCUBA divers are heading downward to the deeper blue waters while dolphins are frolicing towards the top. Shells and starfish adorn the outer border. It is magnificent! Thank you, Cathy.
